He Said, She Said
The great novelist Margaret Atwood said it best: "The
Eskimos had fifty-two names for snow because it was
important to them: there ought to be as many for love."
I feel that way about quotes on love. If you're familiar
with my other list, Writers Daily Quote, you know I've
been collecting quotes since I was a teenager, filling
notebook after notebook with the most beautiful,
provocative, occasionally maddening things other people
have had to say on various subjects. Mostly, though, it
seems that I have collected quotes on love and writing.
Writers Daily Quote has been up and running for almost
a year and a half now and is truly a labor of -- well,
love.
Which is why I'm here today to announce the creation of
He Said She Said, your source for the best things ever
written about love, romance, and the whole mysterious
world of men and women. Every day (at least that's my
hope) you'll receive a quote pertaining to love. It might
be unapologetically sentimental. It might be irreverent.
Monday's quote might make you laugh. Wednesday's might
make you cry. All of the quotes are from my
personal collection and chosen each day according to my
mood of the moment. No fancy high-tech computer
program at work here: just a working writer who loves
words and wants to share them.
