What's Cooking?

Tomato Sandwiches

This is why bread was invented. I think it's best on whole wheat bread but there are others who'll argue for a loaf of homemade white with a wonderful crust. All I know is that summer wouldn't be summer without tomato sandwiches.

Ingredients:
Deep red, perfectly ripe, garden tomatoes
Your favorite sliced bread
Mayonnaise (homemade or Hellman's/Best Foods)
Pepper, freshly ground

Slather mayo on a slice of bread then pile high with thick slices of ripe, juicy tomatoes. Get out your pepper mill and grind a healthy amount of pepper over the tomatoes. Slap a slice of bread on top, slice, prepare to see heaven.
